OLV Music Ministry

posted Sep 23, 2019, 12:00 PM by Diane Lapinski   [ updated Feb 7, 2020, 9:04 AM ]

Time to Sing in the Season! - OLV music ensembles are preparing for the coming of the Christ child!  It’s time for you to take the opportunity to sing or play with one of our groups.  Everyone has some talent and it’s time for you to use that talent in one of our groups. Maybe you like to sing… or perhaps play an instrument.  Maybe you’d like to learn how to ring a bell.  Whatever it is, we have several opportunities for you to explore your talent.  Most people have busy schedules and limited free time.  It may be time to examine your schedule and make some time.  Remember that “he who sings, prays twice”.  Take the time to pray twice…and have fun doing it!  Make a call, leave a message, send an email.  Contact Music Director Joe Malafarina at: OLV Office:  814.237.7832  x 423  or:  [email protected]

Sanctuary Choir:  Rehearses every Thursday evening – 7 PM – Activity Center Music Suite

Contemporary Ensemble:  Meets before Mass on Sunday – 8:45 or 11:15

Spirits of Fire:  Sings once a month – usually the 1
st Saturday of the month

Bell Choir Ensemble – For new, intermediate or experienced ringers!  Meets two Wednesdays a month at 7:00pm.

Instrumentalist?  Keyboard?  Guitarist?  Wind player?  String player?  Percussionist?

Where do you fit in?  Call Joe and ask how you can help!  814.237.7832  x423

Gabriel Project

posted Aug 10, 2017, 6:05 AM by Diane Lapinski   [ updated Jan 26, 2018, 7:46 AM ]

Gabriel Project Babies: The Gabriel Project is a Pro-Life movement offering parish-based pastoral care to women in a crisis pregnancy. It is the goal of the Gabriel Project to help such women with all their practical needs, as well as offering them unconditional love in an apostolate of friendship throughout their pregnancy. For more information about the Gabriel Project, please call 867-5511.

If you can help the Gabriel Project, please put your monetary donations in the Sunday collection, or mail them to Betty Gummo, c/o Our Lady of Victory Church, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College, PA 16801. A check made out to “The Gabriel Project/OLV” (a 501c3 non-profit) can be used as a tax deduction.

Donations of diapers, onesies, etc., can be placed in the wooden bin in the back of the church, marked The Gabriel Project. Due to liability, we cannot accept used toys, strollers, cribs or car seats. Thank you very much for your support of these mothers and their babies, especially with prayer.
