FROM THE PASTOR…..MY DEAR PARISH FAMILY, over the past few weeks we have had a   fundraiser and a second collection for Fr. Ralph’s school. I would like to report that $3,500.00 was raised at the breakfast ($2,200.00 for the breakfast itself and $1,311.00 in donations). As of this writing, $58,919.00 was collected throughout the summer from parishioners, friends and other churches who know about the school. When I look at these figures it only goes to reaffirm my belief that when it comes to charity, Our Lady of Victory and her friends are the most generous in the Diocese. I want to take this time to THANK all those who made this possible. I am very proud of our parish and  humbled at the same time. May God continue to bless all of you with the same kindness you have shown to His children. We are now ready to purchase a bus for the school. I told him before he left to make sure to send us a picture of it so that we can see what we bought.

Along those lines, I would like to share with you an E-MAIL I RECEIVED FROM FR. RALPH this past week:

Dear Fr. Neil Dadey and my most cherished Parishioners of OLV Catholic Church, as I head back home, I write today to thank you for all the warm reception you extended to me during my time here this summer. You are the most beautiful, wonderful, kind and generous parishioners I have   ever encountered. I am so lucky! You have been extremely supportive of our mission back home in Ghana. As a result of your kindness and generosity, we are going to get a slightly used bus for our school; we are going to offer free transport to our children from their villages to our school, and we are going to give them free lunch. This is a new package that will motivate more parents to send their children to our school. Your continued financial support has made me a stronger person and I will forever be grateful. It is because of you that I have been able to rise with a heart full of courage; it is because of you that I am touching lives in this part of the world; and, it is because of you that I am changing the lives of these children. Your encouragement, kindness and financial contribution have indeed made all the difference. Thank you. I want to assure you of our daily prayers for you all. Please do remember us in your prayers as well. Thank you and God bless.

This Thursday we will have our BACK TO SCHOOL PICNIC on the front lawn of our school.  I invite all students and parents to join us for this enjoyable event.  I am sure Samantha sent out notices concerning this picnic.  I am looking forward to it as we celebrate the opening of school with the         parents and students who are attending.

Next Sunday at the Knights of Columbus Grounds, we will have our ANNUAL PARISH PICNIC from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. As always, it is a nice time to gather as a parish family, enjoying good food and just relaxing on a summer day. Please mark your calendars and plan to be with us as we       celebrate Our Lady of Victory Parish. More information can be found in the parish bulletin.

HUMOR FOR THE WEEK - I bet you don't know what day this is", said the wife to her husband as he made his way out the front door. The husband was perplexed, but was always a quick thinker: "Of course I do, my dear. How could I forget!?" With that, he turned and rushed to catch the bus for work. At 10 AM, the doorbell rang and when the woman opened the door, she was handed a box containing a dozen long-stemmed red roses. At 1 PM, a foil-wrapped, two-pound box of her favorite chocolates arrived. Later, a boutique delivered a designer dress. The woman couldn't wait for her husband to come home. The husband was smug when he returned from work, satisfied that he had recovered what could have been a very bad situation. His wife was indeed surprised: "First the      flowers, then the chocolates and then the dress!" she exclaimed, "I've never had a more wonderful Groundhog Day in my life!"
