Secretarial Position Opening: Our parish secretary for the last 16+ years, Joyce Hughey, will   retire this October. Congratulations, Joyce! Your smiling face in the office will be greatly missed. But if anyone deserves some rest, it is you, after all you’ve done for OLV.

Now comes the difficult part - finding a new secretary. We are accepting applications starting now. This is a full-time, paid position with benefits. Hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Applicant must be able to keep confidences! Patience, a pleasant personality and the ability to multi-task are also essential, as well as facility in using a PC for emails, word processing, etc.

Interested parties should submit a typed resume with references to the office to the attention of Msgr. David Lockard. If you have questions, contact Joyce or Monsignor by phone or email.

Please Observe No Parking Zones: On behalf of the elderly and disabled I must insist that no one park along the inside of the circle in front of our church. The red cones are placed there for that purpose. Do not move them!  Thank you.

Update on the Catholicism Series at OLV: There has been much interest expressed in joining a Catholicism discussion group! The people or couples who have volunteered to facilitate a group are being trained now to do so. Some groups will meet in homes, others will meet in the Activities Center. The groups will meet on different days and times so that as many people as possible can participate. We will begin the week of October 8 and continue through the week of November 12.

We will have sign-up opportunities the weekends of September 8/9 and 15/16 in the Gathering Space. At that time we will give out the participants’ study guides. We ask a $20 registration charge to help pay for all the materials. Questions?? Call 237-7832 or email  office@ourladyofvictory.com.

Attention Married Couples: As part of his Marriage Building Initiative, Bishop Bartchak has asked that each parish in the Diocese ask prayers once a month for those married couples of our parish who are celebrating a wedding anniversary that month.  We will be announcing the anniversaries on the weekend of September 22/23.  If you are celebrating your wedding anniversary in September and would like to be mentioned in the announcements and included in the petitions, please notify Diane at the church office by September 20.

Mass Intentions: We are now “caught up” in our Mass intentions to be offered at OLV, so if you have an intention, we can satisfy it rather soon.
