Once again, as usual, your priests will be attending these services giving help to our brother priests. Therefore, please know that our time might be at a premium over the month of December. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.  And please mark Sunday, December 16 as the day of our Penance Service.

Next Saturday plan to be with us for our ANNUAL 18 AND OVER PARISH CHRISTMAS PARTY AT THE STATE COLLEGE RAMADA. The evening will begin at 5:15 and end around 8:30.  This evening is my way of saying “THANKS” for being such a wonderful parish family, supportive in every way.  There is no charge for this gathering and  I want all parishioners to come, relax and have a wonderful time as a family.  Please circle the day on your calendars and be with us for this enjoyable evening.  Call the rectory for your reservation now. REMEMBER, THE BEST THING IS THAT IT IS FREE!!!!!!

CHRISTMAS DAY: regular Sunday schedule, 7:30, 9:30 and 12:00

NEW YEAR’S EVE: 4:00 pm

I know it has been a few weeks since we had our BAZAAR. However, I did want to take the time to thank all those who made our annual bazaar such a wonderful success for the parish.  I do not have the final numbers as of yet, but I am sure it will bring in much-needed funds for the operating of the church.  However, I do not consider the success of the bazaar purely in financial numbers.  I, as pastor, look as the smiles from those who came to enjoy the games, food, and friendship.  I look at friendships that were renewed.  I heard the laughter from those who were telling stories from past bazaars.  I look at the children enjoying trying to "rope the bull."  You see, part of the bazaar success is not just financial (although it is an important part).  To me, creating a family fun atmosphere is just as or more important than "bringing in the bucks."  Some might disagree with me, but God always provides the needed  resources to run the parish.  Happy parishioners and loving families mean more to me.  I want to thank Chris Kirkpatrick for chairing this event.  Thanks to all who volunteered their time and talent in helping Chris.  And thanks to all the families who came and supported this fun event.  May God continue to bless all of us here at OLV and keep drawing us closer into His love and family.  As soon as we have the  proceeds I will let you know how much was raised.

HUMOR FOR THE WEEK - One Christmas, a family (Mom, Dad, boy age 9) that seldom went to church, decided to go. After church, the Mom said, "I thought the choir was a little off key." The Dad said, "Well, the preacher's message was bland, too." Whereupon the boy said, "I thought he did pretty good for the nickel you put in the collection plate."
