FROM THE PASTOR…..MY DEAR PARISH FAMILY, This Sunday is ANNOUNCEMENT SUNDAY FOR THE ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL. The Appeal will be conducted throughout our Diocese during the next several weeks. Your gift supports the parish as well as our Diocesan Ministries. Many of our parishioners have benefited from the work of the Tribunal, the Scouting Office, Catholic Charities, the Permanent Deaconate Program, the Rite of Christian Initiation Office, just to name a few. My goal once again is to have 100% participation from Our Lady of Victory. Please consider a gift to the Appeal and bring it with you next weekend on Commitment Sunday. Bishop Mark has sent you a letter with an enclosed pledge card. The pledges can be placed in the collection basket next weekend, brought to the rectory in person or sent to us through the mail. As I stated before, we have always surpassed our goal and I believe we will do so once again. I am not being presumptuous; I have faith in our parish. However, if you are unable to make a financial gift, please return the pledge card indicating that in order to prevent you from receiving a second or third notice. May God bless us and our parish through this Appeal.
See the attachment for the Bishop's Letter.
HUMOR FOR THE WEEK - Going over the church finances a pastor found a receipt from a local paint store signed by someone named Christian. He wasn't aware of anyone buying paint, so he called the store to point out its mistake 'I'm sorry,' he told the manager, 'but there are no Christians here at St Mary's Church.'
