As we continue to go through the winter months, I want to again THANK the MARTHA HELPERS GROUP that is helping in keeping the church clean and looking great. It is a huge task to keep up with the church, especially with the many parishioners who come and worship over the weekends. I am appreciative and grateful that we have many who give of their time and energy in this project. Thank you so much and God bless.

I want to recognize and congratulate JEN ROGAN for being selected as the teacher representative on the School Council. The teachers were given a nomination ballot and Jen was selected. I feel that she will bring to the council the “teachers perspective” which will only help the council make our school a shining light with the diocese. Welcome Jen!

As many of you have noticed, we are REMODELING the restrooms in the vestibule area of the church. Due to a generous contribution from a concerned parishioner, the restrooms are undergoing a needed face-lift. If the work is not finished by this weekend, I am hoping that the work will be finished by next weekend. Again, may God bless our parishioner whose donation towards the remodeling project makes the refurbished restrooms another completed item.

I also want to THANK Pam McDonough and her helpers who volunteered to cleaned the kitchen in the Activities Center, reorganized the shelves and helped get the kitchen in good working order. I cannot tell you how many people came to me over the months saying that we needed someone who was willing to oversee the kitchen and Pam stepped forward. I am grateful for the many hours spent in this project. The kitchen looks beautiful and we hope that it remains so. The next step will be to put a fresh coat of paint on the hall walls giving us once gain a “brand new hall.” Thanks to all who are making this possible. And thanks to all those who are contributing to the Capital Campaign. It is through your generous contributions that we are able to make the improvements throughout our church plant.

Just for your information, for those who missed my class on the PASSION OF JESUS as found in St. Mark’s Gospel last Monday, you still are invited to come. Normally at the beginning of every class, I review the material from the previous class so that all will be brought up to date. Parishioners are invited as we begin to prepare for our Lenten journey.

HUMOR FOR THE WEEK - At a CCD class the children were learning how God created everything, including human beings. Johnny was especially intent when the teacher told him how Eve was    created out of one of Adam's ribs.   Later in the week his mother noticed him lying down as though he were ill, and said, "Johnny, what is the matter?" Johnny responded, "I have pain in my side. I think I'm going to have a wife."
