Fragrance-Free Pews: At our last meeting the Parish Pastoral Council decided that the first three pews next to the wall on the Blessed Mother statue side of the church will be “fragrance-free.” In other words, if you are wearing perfume, after-shave or similar things, please do not sit there. Thank you for your consideration.

Brookline Communion Ministers: We need one or two additional extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to bring the Sacrament to residents of the Fairways and/or the Inn at Brookline. This would involve one Thursday a month. Please contact Msgr. Lockard at the parish office if you would like to volunteer.

Marriage Survey: Our newly-formed OLV Parish Marriage Team is here to help married couples grow in the grace of the Sacrament of Matrimony. They very much want to learn what sort of events - spiritual, social, educational - married couples are interested in having take place in our parish. You can help them by taking a few minutes to fill out the survey form located on the “marriage table” in the Gathering Space. Thank you for your suggestions.

Oklahoma City Relief: Our Parish Pastoral Council voted to donate $3,000 to Catholic Charities USA to help those affected by the killer tornado in Oklahoma. If you would like to add to the    total, you can make a check out to OLV parish, mark it for “tornado victims” and put it in the     collection or bring it to the parish office.

Field of Dreams:  I invite you to join me and our fellow Catholics from the Centre Region to come to the State College Spikes game at 6:05pm Sunday, June 23rd at Medlar Field at Labrano Park. See the details elsewhere in the bulletin. Show your Catholic pride and sportsmanship.

New Director of Music Ministries: I am happy to announce that we have hired Mrs. Paula  Mowbry to succeed Dr. Sara Hopkins as Director of Music Ministries for Our Lady of Victory Parish. Paula is a very accomplished and experienced musician, organist and choir director in several different churches “out west.” She will be moving here over the summer and begin her duties on August 1, 2013

Dr. Sara will retire at that time and go on a well-deserved “R and R” period. On behalf of the entire parish, I wish to thank her for all she has given to us over the past fifteen years. Please keep both Sara and Paula in your prayers as they begin this new phase in their lives.
