Stations of the Cross: During Lent, Stations of the Cross will be Fridays at 7:00pm and at 1:30pm.

Fridays of Lent: All Fridays of Lent are days when Catholics must abstain from eating meat.

Adoration: During Lent, please consider dropping into Church on Thursdays to make a “Holy Hour” before the Blessed Sacrament. The Eucharist is on the altar from 7:30am Thursday til 7:00am  Friday. If you can’t spend 60 minutes in the church, how about 30?

Annual Catholic Appeal: By now we all should have received a letter from Bishop Mark Bartchak  announcing our 2013 Diocesan Annual Catholic Appeal. Because we were beginning our own    Parish Capital Campaign last year at this time, OLV was exempted from the 2012 ACA. But this year, we need to raise $133,917 to support the work of our Diocesan Church. Because many of us are away on Spring Break this weekend, I will speak at all Masses the weekend of March 16/17 when we are all together again. In the meantime, please read my letter on the subject which you should receive this week.

Parish Penance Services: For your convenience, here is a list of Penance Services being held in parishes nearby. Please note that our Bishop, Mark Bartchak, will preside at the one at Good  Shepherd this Tuesday, March 12 at 7:00pm.

Consistory: Please pray for the Cardinals who will begin the process of selecting the new Bishop of Rome who will succeed Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI to the chair of St. Peter. Could there possibly be a more important decision to make?

Prayer for the Election of the Pope: “O God, Eternal Shepherd, who govern your flock with     unfailing care, grant, in your boundless fatherly love, a pastor for your Church who will please you by his holiness and show watchful care to us. We ask this through Christ our Lord.”

Mass Schedule Change: Because of a “priest shortage”, there will not be a 7:00pm Mass this Wednesday, March 13th.  Masses on the 13th will be at 7:00am and 9:00am.
