FROM THE PASTOR….MY DEAR PARISH FAMILY,  this Wednesday our parish will be traveling to ST. ELIZABETH ANN SETON’S SHRINE in Emmitsburg, Md. Before arriving, we will have lunch at McDonalds then on to the grounds of Mother Seton. We will visit the National Shrine, tour the grounds and make a stop at Mt. St. Mary’s Seminary, where your pastor was educated and formed, tour the Grotto and attend Mass. We will enjoy a buffet dinner at the Cozy Restaurant before returning. It looks to be a wonderful day for all. The bus will leave from our parking lot at 8:30AM. Since this is a Wednesday and your priests will be going, there will be neither evening Mass nor  confessions. We do have a few seats still open for those who might want to go. Please call the   rectory ASAP if this is the case. Reminder, no 6:00pm confessions or 7:00pm Mass on Wednesday.

Also, do not forget our other bus trip – PITTSBURGH PIRATES VS. CINCINNITI REDS BASEBALL GAME on June 19th. We still have seats available. Again, please call the rectory to reserve your place. FYI – the seats are field boxes on first base side (great seats).

As we end another year of RELIGIOUS EDUCATION in our parish, I want to take this time to THANK all those dedicated lay men and women who so graciously volunteered their time and   talents to be teachers, aides, helpers to make our program run smoothly and efficiently. It is truly a blessing to have so many dedicated people who decided to be of service to the Lord and to our    parish. It is so often a thankless ministry; but please know that I and the parish appreciate the giving of yourselves for the children. Seeing the children progress through their spiritual journey due to the work given by our parishioners should lift our hearts in grateful praise to the Lord. Once again, thanks and God bless.

This Thursday evening at 7:00 our school students will be performing GODSPELL, JR. in the school auditorium. Parishioners are invited to join us for this musical rendition of St. Mathew’s Gospel in song. The students worked very hard and you will be proud of this musical production.

HUMOR FOR THE WEEK - My Teacher is Thankful

Son: “Mom, My teacher was asking me today, if I have any brothers or sisters who will be coming to school.”

Mom: “That’s nice of her to take such an interest in you. So what did she say when you told her that you’re the only child, my dear?”

Son: “She just said…“Thank goodness!”
