FROM THE PASTOR...MY DEAR PARISH FAMILY, This Tuesday evening at 7:00 we will have our MASS OF REMEMBERANCE for those who have died this past year from our   parish.  Families will be invited to participate in the lighting of a candle after the homily in memory of their deceased loved family member, signifying their conviction in faith that after death life begins anew with God forever in heaven.  Parishioners and friends are also invited to attend this Mass.

And along those lines, as we remember during the MONTH OF NOVEMBER those who have died, I once again want to call your attention to the envelope in your packet of envelopes and the envelopes on the tables at the entrances of the church.  If you wish to have your loved one(s) remembered at all the Masses throughout the month, please return the envelope with the name of your loved ones.  We will have the envelopes placed before “our shrine” in the Sanctuary with the names of those who have died this past year from OLV.  For me, this is the way we as believers in the Risen Lord profess our faith and  conviction that those who have died in Christ will rise in Him.

Please be patient – as you have seen or witnessed in the church, there is still a little bit of water coming from the CHURCH ROOF. LET ME ASSURE YOU – IT IS NOT LEAKING.  As of right now, it is the melting frost and condensation that we have been having over the past few weeks.  We did expect some of the due to the different and strange shape of the church roof.  This roof has always been a problem since the building of the church.  The contractors have been contacted, REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE MADE.  They have promised that we will have a roof that will be leak free.  Please be patient until all the work is completed.

Our Lady of Victory Parish will participate in the INTERFAITH HUMAN SERVICES WISHING WELL BELL RINGING CAMPAIGN again this year.  The monies collected will be used to help families who are experiencing heating, utility, rental and prescription emergencies.  There will be a table in the baptistery this weekend for those who would be willing to help in this charitable project.  Please stop by and see if you might be willing to help out for an hour or so this holiday season.

I want to THANK Ann Rigo and the Decoration Committee for the beautiful decorations that adorn our sanctuary.  I have always believed that worship is truly aided by the environment that one experiences in our worship space.  The Committee has done a wonderful job in helping us experience the beauty of the Lord through the decorations provided.  Thanks and may God bless.

HUMOR FOR THE WEEK - Tommy and Billy were discussing their latest turkey shoot.  Tommy says emphatically, 'I am never going to take my wife Laura shooting with me ever again, Billy!'  'That bad, eh?' enquires Billy smiling.  'Yeah, Laura did everything wrong, got nothing right.  She chattered too much, constantly disturbed the undergrowth, loaded the wrong gauge shot in the gun, used the wrong luring whistles and worst of all,' bellows Tommy, 'she shot more turkeys than me!'
