FROM THE PASTOR…..MY DEAR PARISH FAMILY, as you know from your spiritual  journeys the month of November is the month when we remember all those who have gone before us and entered their everlasting reward.  In a special way we remember all those parishioners who have died from our parish this past year with their names placed in the temporary shrine in the Sanctuary.  To remember those who died this past year we will once again have our MEMORIAL MASS this Wednesday, November 20th at 6:00 PM.  This Mass will be offered for them, that they may be resting in the loving arms of our Father. A candle will already be lit for each one of them   before Mass begins and it will burn throughout the Mass, as a sign that they are living in the light of heavenly glory.  Each name will be read, commending them to our merciful God.  Parishioners and family members are invited to attend this special Mass and pray for our deceased loved ones.

Because this falls on a Wednesday, our ALL DAY ADORATION WILL END AT 5:00PM allowing us to prepare the Church for the Church for the celebration of this Memorial Mass.

Last Saturday, we had our ANNUAL CHURCH BAZAAR. It was very enjoyable for me to walk around, talk to people, hear the laughter and see the children playing the kid's games, eating the great food and just seeing our parish enjoying themselves.  For this to have been a great success, it took the work of many parishioners to pull it off.  I want to take this time to THANK all those who worked so hard.  There are so many people to thank, so I thought I would just give a blanket note of “thanks” to all who gave of their time and energy.  In a special way, I want to thank Chris Kirkpatrick for the tireless hours spent in organizing and directing this event for us.  It is way too early to report the results; but know that when all the bills are paid, there will be a report to the  parish.  God bless and thanks to all who worked and came to support this fundraiser for the church.

It is a little early, but we are working on the schedule of ADVENT PENANCE SERVICES for the Northern Deanery.  As we move closer to Advent, I will publish the times, dates and places where they will be held. Just for your information, OLV Penance Service will be held on Sunday,  December 15th at 2:00 PM.  This is just to give all of you a heads up.  More information will come in future bulletins when all is confirmed.

For several years, OLV has provided FREE access for all parishioners to the -Augustine Institute website containing outstanding Catholic content for the whole family in English and Spanish: videos, books, audios, about our faith, saints, the Bible, Sacraments, and more. Our yearly subscription is due December 1. We would like to hear from those of you who have registered for Formed.  Please see more information in this bulletin.

HUMOR FOR THE WEEK - During an impassioned sermon about death and final judgment, the pastor said forcefully, "Each member of this church is going to die and face judgment." Glancing down at the front pew, he noticed a man with a big smile on his face. The minister repeated his point louder. "Each member of this church is going to die and face judgment!" The man nodded and smiled even more. This got the preacher wound up. He pounded the pulpit emphatically when he came to the ultimatum: "Each member of this church is going to die and face judgment!!!" Though everyone else in the congregation was looking somber, the man in front continued to smile. Finally, the preacher stepped off the platform, stood in front of the man and shouted, "I said each member of this church is going to die!" The man grinned from ear to ear. After the service was over, the preacher made a beeline for the man. "I don't get it," the preacher said in  frustration. "Whenever I said, 'Each member of this church is going to die,' your smile got bigger. Why?" "I'm not a member of this church," the man replied.
