FROM THE PASTOR…..MY DEAR PARISH FAMILY,  due to bulletin time commitments, I will reserve till next week my comments on our Parish Mission.

As directed by the Chancery, the celebration of the EXTRAORDINARY FORM OF THE MASS has been discontinued at OLV on the first Saturday of the month. For those who still would like to attend, the Mass is being offered at Queen of Peace Parish in Patton, Pa.

A tremendous thank you goes out to all those who contributed to our mission co-op that was conducted 2 weeks ago for the MISSIONARY SISTERS OF THE HOLY ROSARY. To date, over $20,500.00 has been collected. What an outstanding collection this was for Sr. Ellen and her group. I am so proud of you all for it once again shows the generosity present in our    parish and the commitment our parish makes in doing what Pope Francis calls the Church to do – take care of the poor and unfortunate. That amount is by far one of the biggest ever    collected for an appeal such as hers. I am truly grateful for being pastor of a parish that truly shows their care and concern for the unfortunate and who follows the Gospel dictum, “When I was hungry…thirsty…naked…in prison…” you came and gave to me. God bless you all.

I want to extend another thanks to all those MORNING MASS ATTENDEES for being so   patient and understanding in the adjustments that had to be made due to the work on the church and rectory roofs.  I am evaluating the situation each week and will make the necessary adjustments when progress dictates. There is no Adoration this Thursday, but  remember, the church is open and the Eucharistic Adoration adorers can still come in at their appointed time. Jesus is present in the tabernacle just as He is present in exposition. Equal graces are given for both situations. And please pray for good weather. The sooner the church roof gets done, the sooner we can move back into church. Again, PLEASE BE PATIENT. WE ONLY HAVE SO MUCH CONTROL OF SITUATIONS. I have to                 accommodate the plans of the contractors. That is totally out of my hands.

Our parish will be sponsoring a BUS TRIP TO NEW YORK CITY for a free day on Wednesday, December 2. As before, time will be on your own. The bus will leave from our parking lot at 5:30 AM and return by 11:00 PM. The cost is just $45.00. Please call now for your reservations. We only have 40 seats available and seats do go fast. More details are found in the bulletin.

HUMOR FOR THE WEEK – MORE MURPHY’S LAWS:

Law of Logical Argument - Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about.

Wilson's Law - As soon as you find a product that you really like, they will stop making it.

Law of the Telephone - When you dial a wrong number, you never get a busy signal.

Law of Hot Coffee - As soon as you sit down to a cup of hot coffee, you will be inspired (by yourself or, more likely, your boss) to do something which will last until the coffee is cold.

Law of Window Cleaning - It's on the other side.

Law of Fixing or Replacement - If it jams...force it. If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway.
