New Secretary: I am happy to announce that Betty Gummo is our new parish secretary, replacing Joyce Hughey, who has retired. Betty’s first day will be this Monday, Oct. 15th. If you have a chance, please visit and introduce yourself to her. Betty is a member of our parish who has most recently worked for the local school district, and for the State Forestry Service.
Retirement Reception: A reception will be held on Sunday, Oct. 28 for our retiring secretary, Joyce Hughey, who has served our parish for over 16 years. The reception will be held in the Activities Center Gardiner Social Hall from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Please come out and thank her for her many years of service to Our Lady of Victory parish.
Extraordinary Minsters of Holy Communion: I am going to gather a new class of “EMHC’s” to serve here at OLV. They will be trained to distribute Holy Communion at parish Masses and/or to the homebound. If you are at least sixteen years of age, confirmed and able to receive Holy Communion, you are eligible. If you feel God is calling you to this ministry, please notify me by calling the parish office or by emailing me through the parish email address.
Ushers Needed: We always could use a few more people to serve in the ministry of usher and especially at the Noon Mass on Sundays. An usher can be a man or woman, and should be at least high school age. If you wish to do this, please call the parish office or email me - firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank You! Thank you to all who attended and participated in all of our Novena’s services and events. I think it was a successful nine days and has prepared us well for the Year of Faith which began last Thursday, Oct. 11th - the 50th anniversary of the beginning of the Second Vatican Council.
