FROM THE PASTOR…..MY DEAR PARISH FAMILY,  this Sunday we welcome Bishop Mark who will        celebrate the 12:00 Mass commemorating the 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE KNIGHTS OF                     COLUMBUS.  It is fitting that we honor the Knights of Columbus for their dedication to the church and          support of her priests.  I have always felt that they are an “arm of the church” supporting and nourishing the church with their faith and their active ministry.  Parishioners are invited to attend this Mass.  I ask God’s blessings upon these men as they continue to give of themselves for the building up the Kingdom of God  upon this earth.

As you know from previous years, the priests of the diocese meet with their Bishop every fall for THE FALL CLERGY CONFERENCE. Once again this meeting will be held this week, but with a few adjustments from past years.  The adjustments will affect our schedule here.  Therefore, take note of the changes for this week:

 -      Monday - regular Mass schedule – 7:00 and 9:00 AM

 -      Tuesday - NO 7:00 Mass; 9:00 am Mass as usual

 -      Wednesday – no 7:00 Mass; 9:00 am Mass as usual. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will begin

                      AFTER THE 9:00 MASS.

At this time in the life of the church, your prayers are asked for in a special way. We all fall from the glory of God. But the Lord promises that the church will survive despite the failings of men and women within the church. God bless you all for remembering the priests and Bishop in your prayers. And thanks for your  understanding of the necessity of the changes for the week.

As I type these words, I want to extend my HEARTFELT THANKS to all those who made our school               walk-a-thon such a huge success.  As I informed you last week, I did not have the totals to print.  I was        given the  totals last week and they are outstanding.  Due to the generosity of so many parishioners, the school children collected $85,924.00!!!!!!!  What an outstanding total despite what is going on within the church. To me, that speaks of the dedication of all parishioners to Our Lady of Victory and the faith that you have in your priests, in the school and her administration and teachers, and in the acknowledgment of the good work being done for the church and school.  I am so grateful to all who participated, making our school the "light on the hill" as I have always believed we are.  God bless and thanks.

I want to thank the following who made our WALK-A-THON such a huge success.  Thanks are extended to the chairs Heather Lukac and Kelly Kurpeikis.  Thanks to their committee of Ashley Bartley, Courtney          Chambers, Caitlin Dare, Amy Gravine, Maria  Kim, Kristen Koshko, Will Malerich, Monika Manter, Jackie McNulty, Colleen Patrick, Kristine Poust, Kathy Roe, Melanie Smith, Kristy Urgo, Marlena Vendemia and Laura Yartz.  Thank you so much for all the hard work to help the children of OLV.

A NOTE FROM FR. RALPH - Greetings from Ghana!

“I am pleased to get in touch with you today. It is my prayer and hope that you are faring well? I am also       doing fine here. Regarding the setting up of the science lab, we are working to get all the needed               estimation done so that I can send it to you. Our school has resumed. Everything here is under control. We had the in-service training course for the teachers. In all, we have 17 staff members in our faculty, and  everybody is doing their best . The results for the high school candidates are released. All our 12  candidates passed, and they have gained admissions to the high schools. I want to thank you once more for your great support to us. May God bless and protect you always.”  RalphWhat wonderful news that 12 STUDENTS GRADUATING FROM OUR SCHOOL HAVE BEEN ACCEPTED INTO HIGH SCHOOL!!!  I want to thank you all who have helped to make the high school experience dream for these students come true.  OLV Parish truly is a very caring and giving parish.  Thank you so very much!

HUMOR FOR THE WEEK - A husband read an article to his wife about how women use 30,000 words a day to a man’s 15,000. The wife replied, “That’s because we have to repeat everything to men.” The       husband turned to his wife and said, “What?”
