Novena: Our annual parish Novena to Our Lady of Victory concludes this Sunday, October 7th with the traditional “Rosary Walk” led by Fr. Matt. Please meet in the Church at 6:30pm. And thanks to all who participated in the Novena in any way.

Ushers Needed: We always could use a few more people to serve in the ministry of usher and especially at the Noon Mass on Sundays. An usher can be a man or woman, and should be at least high school age. If you wish to do this, please call the parish office or email me - [email protected]

Click, click, click: No, those aren’t crickets you are hearing at Mass in October, but ushers counting the Mass attendance. This project is mandated by our Bishop, and so as his good and obedient servants, we will comply.

Charitable Giving: At their last meeting our Pastoral Council decided to distribute the charitable giving of our parish for the months of July and August as follows:

$2,170.00 - Catholic Charities, Bellefonte (Heating Assistance)

$2,169.00 - St. Vincent de Paul, Huntingdon

$1,085.00 - Hope for the Anawim (Children in Nigeria)

$1,085.00 - St. Jude’s Parish in Nigeria

Respect Life Sunday - In addition to being our Parish Feast Day, it is also Respect Life Sunday in the U.S.A. The theme this year is “Faith Opens Our Eyes to Human Life in All Its Grandeur and Beauty.” We show our Respect for Life by prayer, by supporting pro-life   counseling groups like the Gabriel Project, by educating ourselves and others about the truth of life, and if at all possible, by voting for pro-life candidates.

Pro Life Chain:- October 7, 2:00pm to 3:00pm (rain or shine) - You, your family, and friends are invited to join other Pro-Life People in this annual national event supporting the protection of human life from destruction by abortion.  The Life Chain is a peaceful expression of our respect and reverence for life.  Please meet at the former site of the Abortion Clinic, 900 West College Avenue, at 1:45pm. There, you will be directed to your place in the Life Chain of people stretching along the sidewalks.  We will stand in our places from 2:00-3:00pm.  Life Chain signs will be provided.
